Sidetext terms and conditions

1. Who we are

Sidetext is made and provided by Groene Code, a Dutch company based in Sint Odiliënberg, Chamber of Commerce 17185974. If you have questions about these terms, you can reach us at support@groenecode.nl.

2. What Sidetext is

Sidetext is a messaging service for personal, family and business use. Sidetext is in a pre-release phase: the service is available by invitation only, features may change or disappear, and we give no guarantee of availability. We do our best to keep the service running reliably, but faults and maintenance can occur, sometimes without notice.

3. Your account

You create an account with a username, an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your login details and your recovery code secret. An account is personal; you do not create an account for someone else, except as set out in article 4 about parents and children.

4. Age

To use a Sidetext account independently you must be 16 or older. If you are under 16, you may use Sidetext only with the permission of a parent or guardian who has a Sidetext account themselves. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this condition. We may close an account if this turns out not to be the case.

5. What is not allowed

You do not use Sidetext to break the law or to harm others. That includes at least: sending unlawful content, spam, deception, harassment, and disrupting the service or attempting to do so. You respect the rights of other users.

6. Enforcement

If you breach these terms, we may restrict or close your account. If we do, we say so honestly: a blocked account is told about it, with a way to object at support@groenecode.nl. We do not hide blocks.

7. Your content

What you send through Sidetext remains yours. You give us only the technical permission needed to provide the service: storing and delivering your messages and files to the recipients you choose. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it.

8. Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy on sidetext.eu. That statement is part of your agreement with us.

9. Liability

Sidetext is a pre-release service that we provide to the best of our ability. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from the use of, or the unavailability of, the service, including the loss of messages or files. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes

We may change these terms. In the event of a material change we will let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect. If you continue to use Sidetext afterwards, the new terms apply.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may terminate the service or your access as described in article 6, or if we discontinue the service as a whole; in that last case we will announce it well in advance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
